  Hope...All is not lost
Last night was speaking to my friend Dinesh at USC. He told me about a poem he came across reecently.
Journey Beyond Time
by Night Hope

The Soul navigates
through treacherous climes
and reveals
direction of Thought.
We must become
pirates of Destiny
before we can
see beyond the Horizon.
Take flight into Oblivion
& do not regret
the lack of wind in your sails---
there are those
on the Silent Shore
who would willingly
trade their earth-bound feet.
Be glorious as you soar,
for there are eyes upon you,
measuring the distance
between you & the Sun...

We spent a good 15 minutes discussing about it and the topic shifted to destiny and fate and dream. And no discussion about destiny and dream would be complete without even the slightest reference to The Alchemist.
I could continue explaining my interpretation of the poem and its relevance to my life. But, my discussion last night clearly showed that it can be interpreted in different ways with relevance to each ones life. So I shall leave that to you. If u do wanna share something, why dont u comment...
ciao...

Comments:
Alchemist...

The very word brings up the memories of hot discussions we used to hav in our college between 2 groups: "The obsessed" (with the book) and "The skeptics". I belonged to the latter. Not that I refute what is said in the book but that it is not a life changer as the book touts itself to be and my stance is that the book got undeserved approval.

That apart, I don't have anything particular to write on this topic except for the fact that many of these exhorting books/writings seem to map more appropriately to the materialistic world. when it comes to the paramaterialistic dimension, they aren't anywhere near.

Keep writing!

@rams: thanks for stopping by. Any discussion on The Alchemist would not be fair if a seperate post is not dedicated (whether for it or against it) to it. Though I should say I would opt to be in "The Skeptics" group. More about this later.
